The Swiss National Bank (SNB), as an independent central bank, conducts a monetary policy that serves the interests of the country as a whole. The SNB’s Monetary Policy Analysis unit advises the Governing Board regarding its monetary policy decisions and conducts research on monetary policy issues. To strengthen our team, we are seeking a committed

Economist (80%–100%)

Your responsibilities:

- Analysing monetary policy indicators and helping to prepare the monetary policy assessments. - Writing papers on Swiss monetary policy.
- Conducting academic-level research on topics relevant to monetary policy.
- Drafting speeches and contributions to regular SNB publications.

Your profile:

- Doctorate in monetary economics, macroeconomics, financial market economics or applied econometrics.

- Ideally, several years of professional experience at a central bank or a research institution and a track record of publishing in academic journals.

- Ability to analyse and evaluate complex economic interrelationships and communicate information (especially information pertaining to core monetary policy issues) to a range of audiences.

- A good knowledge of German, French and English and outstanding oral and written skills in at least one of these languages.
