The Department of Economics in the School of Economics and Business at the University of Barcelona invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning in September 2018.

Applicants are expected to show outstanding commitment to research and must be in possession of a favorable report issued by the Catalan accreditation agency (AQU, www.aqu.cat) for a “Tenure-eligible lecturer” or the equivalent position in the case of the Spanish accreditation agency (ANECA, www.aneca.es).

It enjoys a long tradition of teaching, offering both undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs in the field of Economics and Business. In this framework, UB Economics provides an important platform for research and graduate education in Economics, as it encompasses the Masters and the Doctoral program in Economics, which are entirely taught in English (www.ub.edu/school-economics).
Research activities will be carried out in the framework of the Barcelona Institute of Economics (IEB). The IEBs goals are to promote research excellence in economics, to disseminate its results to society, and to contribute to the debate and decision-making process in economic policy (www.ieb.ub.edu/en).
Successful applicants will be expected to teach in the undergraduate and postgraduate programs, to develop independent research programs achieving international recognition, and to be involved in the Department, IEB and School research activities.
