The Customer Engagement team develops and executes communications strategies for all customer segments within Waters. They lead the communications for all customer touchpoints and collaborate across functions to generate new ways to engage audiences, create deeper customer relationships and drive demand.

As a leader on an evolving Customer Engagement team, the Director, Customer Engagement will be responsible for taking personalized customer engagement to the next level and will play an integral role on a team reshaping customer-centric thinking across multiple personas and businesses, including our core product lines and key markets. They will lead the charge to transform a team by adopting demand generation best practices and creating new and updated customer experiences across the buyer’s journey.

The Director will lead cross functional teams of subject matter and channel experts and be responsible for the holistic messages delivered across all channels and customer touchpoints.


  • Partner with all product and segment marketing teams to lead the creation of holistic communication plans to acquire, engage and retain customers
  • Identify communication goals and target audiences and develop a plan to reach the right audience with the right message across their journey with Waters.
  • Manage large team of Product and Market managers and campaign specialists to develop innovative and out-of-the box strategies across multiple customer segments
  • Partner with Global field marketing teams to create and execute plans that support both global and regional priorities
  • Partner with Event Manager and business leads to determine event strategies, budgets and customer experience at global and regional events
  • Track and share customer performance metrics and insights to optimize campaign performance and customer experience
  • Determine and track annual budget needs and manage spend for all Segment Market/Product program and outside services.
  • Manage, coach and develop team of Sr Mgrs and their respective teams


  • Minimum 15 years of experience in B2B marketing communications experience
  • Experience building persona-based engagement plans across multiple products and markets
  • Broad-based knowledge of analytical instruments or medical device industry a plus
  • Experience implementing and using Marketing Automation tools like Marketo.
  • Strong management skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Solid understanding of all aspects of digital marketing and demand generation best practices
  • Strong, flexible strategic thinker with vision
