Job Description
The Marshall University School of Pharmacy is seeking applications for two tenure-track positions in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research. Qualified candidates will have a Ph.D. in a pharmaceutical sciences-related discipline with at least 2 years of postdoctoral training (Assistant Professor level) or 5 years of faculty experience (Associate Professor level). Job responsibilities include teaching pharmacy classes with a flipped classroom approach that incorporates active learning. One successful candidate will teach in pharmaceutics and pharmacokinetics courses, and the other will contribute to basic science instruction in the pharmacy curriculum. Other responsibilities include developing an independent research program within the candidate’s area of expertise and service to the school. Research areas may include but are not limited to: medicinal chemistry, biochemistry, pharmaceutics, physiological sciences, cancer biology, microbiology, immunology, toxicology or genetics. Strong consideration will be given to candidates with a record of extra-mural funding or showing exceptional promise to develop a research program.
Required Qualifications
Ph.D. in a pharmaceutical sciences-related discipline with relevant postdoctoral experience; excellent communication, time management and organizational skills; the ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team. Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to pharmacy education and research.
