The University of Pittsburgh, School of Dental Medicine (UPSDM) invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure stream faculty position in the Department of Oral Biology at the assistant or associate professor level. Rank and salary will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and credentials.

The UPSDM is ranked 4th in NIDCR funding among U.S. dental schools. The UPSDM is located on the University’s main campus in the Oakland neighborhood of Pittsburgh, in close proximity to the other five health science schools.
We are seeking an outstanding individual who can teach basic science classes to First Professional Dental Students, Dental Hygiene students, and Oral Biology graduate students. Preference will be given to candidates with experience teaching Microbiology, Human Physiology, Basic Anatomy and Physiology, Nutrition and Biochemistry, and/or General Histology. The candidate will also be expected to contribute to the research mission of the School and Department through scholarly work in developing novel teaching methodologies or collaborative work in the field of craniofacial and dental research.
Successful candidates will hold a PhD, DMD/DDS, MD, or equivalent degree.
