The Biology Department at Lynchburg College invites applicants for a three-year position with benefits to beginning in August 2018. Individuals with broad training in biology are encouraged to apply.
Teaching responsibilities include genetics and participation in both semesters of the introductory biology sequence. Additional teaching opportunities will be available and include molecular cell biology, microbiology, bioinformatics and/or other courses within the candidate’s area of expertise. Normal teaching load is two lecture/lab courses per semester or an equivalent number of hours. This allows time for personal research/professional development and research with undergraduate students, which is expected. Teaching experience is desired, and a primary interest in teaching and mentoring undergraduates at a liberal arts institution is a must. A PhD is required by the start date. Selected candidate must successfully pass a background check satisfactory to the College.
